Warning: Contains spoilers for Game Of Thrones season seven.
A number of characters clearly and seemingly died in the Game Of Thrones season seven finale, but there was one death which has no escape.
Following Beyond The Wall, nearly every character in the show could have met a grisly end as forces collided in King’s Landing under the volatile eye of Cersei Lannister.
Turns out, everyone in that scenario came out physically unscathed, with the throat-slicing savagery emerging in Winterfell under Sansa Stark’s watch.
As many predicted following the slightly baffling threat from Arya to sister Sansa, the Stark’s were all along planning the demise of Littlefinger – following a scene where it appeared Sansa was planning to eradicate Arya after being told to ‘assume the worst’ about her sister.
After calling Arya to the throne room, Sansa turns to Littlefinger who she forces to answer for his crimes from across the entire show, with Bran using an incredible knowledgeable put-down with his Three-Eyed Raven skills to see through Littlefinger’s attempted lies.
It results in Arya cleanly slicing his throat as he begs for mercy, with his blood spilling out on the floor. Elsewhere, Theon Greyjoy also killed off a rowdy member of the Iron Born in a fist-fight, as he moves to save Yara from the grasp of his uncle Euron. The episode also left open the potential deaths of both Tormund and Beric, who could have both perished as the Night King scorched The Wall to the ground. This was long overdue! #Littlefinger #dead #Amen#GameOfThrones #TheDragonandtheWolf #ThronesYall #DemThrones pic.twitter.com/0ITJmAwT3q

Considering Game Of Thrones likes to showcase when significant characters die, it’s looking likely they’ll make some form of return in the next season. Probably? Maybe? Hopefully. We’ll just have to wait until next year. Sigh. You can catch the Game Of Thrones season seven finale on Sky Atlantic in the UK at 9pm. You can catch-up on Now TV.all it took was a dragon to bring down the mf wall pic.twitter.com/XeU5aUY3sh
